It started with rain and highs in the upper 40s on Monday, progressing to thunderstorms Monday night and then to snow accompanied by punishing winds Tuesday into today.
The strongest gusts were recorded at the Duluth International Airport at 58 mph, according to the National Weather Service in Duluth. They are blaming Canada and a low pressure system pushing down from our northerly neighbors. Remember to thank them for that, eh?
You can relax now though. The winds should be diminishing throughout the afternoon. Now it’s time to bundle up. Tonight’s low is expected to hit single digits.
