People of Grandma’s Marathon: Breanne Tepler

Breanne Tepler is a Duluth native running Grandma’s Marathon‘s Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon on Saturday, marking her first ever half marathon.

As a non-profit race entry, Breanne is raising money and awareness for mental health services through the Human Development Center (HDC).

Breanne says mental health is something near and dear to her heart. Her father died of suicide in 2006, and many of her family members have dealt with mental illness and substance abuse. Breanne has anxiety and uses exercise as a way to manage it.

Breanne has used music to help her through the grieving process. Her band, Breanne Marie & The Front Porch Sinners, provided the music used in this video. It’s an instrumental version of their song, Would You.
