On Tuesday, Aug. 2, neighborhoods throughout Duluth will join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the 33rd annual National Night Out (NNO) Crime and Drug Prevention Event. National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored locally by the Duluth Police Department.
National Night Out is a cohesive effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. In Duluth, this event is an opportunity for the community to gather and connect with the officers who work in their neighborhoods to strengthen relationships and band together to fight crime. Nearly 60 neighborhoods throughout Duluth will be hosting a variety of events such as block parties, cookouts, and visits from police officers, youth activities and anti-crime rallies.
