Doritos Drops New HeatWave Chips in Duluth

Mother Nature delivered a warm day to the Northland on Wednesday, but Doritos dropped a “Heat Wave” on Duluth’s Bayfront Festival Park.

The chip company staged a publicity stunt for its new HeatWave chips — a snack its makers say starts out sweet and then packs “an explosion of fiery heat.”

Two helicopters and skydivers brought in a pallet of the chips and passed them out to the waiting crowd.

Why Duluth?

The company noted how Duluth’s temperature remained stuck in the cool 50s on Memorial Day — so Doritos thought it would bring “a little heat to those who need it most.”
